A cluster of street vendors near the central market serving bun bo Nam Bo (beef noodle soup). Each bowl costs about 30,000 VND. You sit on low plastic stools and eat with locals. No menu, just noodles and beef in a rich broth with sprouts and herbs.

A modern museum covering the history and culture of the Mekong Delta. Displays include artefacts from the Oc Eo civilisation, exhibits on wartime life and a reconstructed traditional house. Everything is in Vietnamese but the visuals are clear.

A 150-year-old wooden house blending French colonial and Chinese architecture. Furnished with antiques, family photos and a pond garden. Entry costs 20,000 VND (less than £1). The house is still lived in by the family descendants.
