Grand 66-step staircase connecting the lower town to the château hill. Built in the 19th century with the same stone as the château. Ten sculpted figures of famous residents line the steps.

💡 Climb it at 11am when the château bells ring through the steps – the acoustics are excellent. Each statue has a small plaque in French; the one of Denis Papin shows his steam digester, a precursor to the pressure cooker.
