Things to Do in Bhimavaram

A well-kept public park with walking paths, benches under banyan trees, and a small children's play area. Good for an afternoon stroll.

A group of four small stone temples from the 12th century, dedicated to Shiva. Intricate carvings on the pillars and a calm inner courtyard.

💡 The priests don't mind if you walk around the outer hall. Look for the carved Nandi bull on the far left shrine—it's the oldest.

A small museum and reading room run by the local council. Displays old manuscripts, farming tools, and photographs of the region's history.

💡 Ask the librarian to show you the palm-leaf manuscripts—they keep them locked up, but will open the cabinet for keen visitors.

💡 Go at sunrise (around 6am) when the temple bells ring and the water is still. It's empty of tourists.

A free viewing platform at the edge of Kolleru Lake, one of India's largest freshwater lakes. In winter you can spot painted storks, pelicans, and herons.
