Things to Do in Bharatpur

A busy Hindu temple complex with a 70-foot statue of Hanuman. Colourful, noisy, and full of local devotees. No entry fee, but offerings cost extra.

A sandstone temple near the national park, built in the 19th century by a local queen. Quiet, less crowded, with stone carvings of deities and scenes from the Ramayana. Free.

💡 Visit just before the park opens (5:30am) for a peaceful experience. The temple caretaker sometimes offers short explanations in Hindi. No English guide.

A 19th-century palace complex with a small museum (50 INR entry). The building mixes Rajput and Mughal styles, though interiors are sparse. Has a pleasant garden.

💡 Check if the museum is open before visiting — it closes unpredictably. The gardens are free to walk around outside the museum building.

Small museum inside the old palace grounds, displaying local archaeology, sculptures, and weapons. Entry 10 INR. Two rooms only. Dated but interesting for history buffs.
