Best Time to Visit Tashkent
Tashkent has a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for sightseeing, while summer can be punishing for walking tours and winter is quiet but chilly.
✦ Go in April–May or September–October for the best balance of pleasant weather and manageable crowds.
✅ Best months
April and May (spring bloom, pleasant 15–25°C) and September to early October (mild 20–28°C, clear skies). These months offer the best conditions for exploring the city's parks, bazaars and metro without extreme heat or cold.
🔥 Peak season
July–August: intense heat (35–40°C) deters some, but domestic Uzbek tourism picks up during school holidays. Hotel prices rise 20–30% in the city centre, especially around the Sharq Taronalari music festival in late August.
💷 Shoulder (best value)
March and November: temperatures range 5–15°C, hotel prices drop 10–20%, and major attractions are quieter. March can be rainy, November is dry but cooler.
🌙 Quietest & cheapest
December–February: temperatures often below freezing at night, snow is common but not heavy. Hotel rates are lowest, but outdoor activities are limited and several historical sites reduce hours.

🧳 What to pack
Bring a reusable water bottle year-round – tap water is not drinkable, but public fountains are rare, so refill at hotel or buy bottled.
