Brazil
Best Time to Visit Maringa
Maringá has a humid subtropical climate with a dry winter and a very wet summer. The best weather runs from April to September, when rain is scarce and temperatures are mild. Avoid January and February if you dislike heavy downpours.
✦ Go in April, May or August for the best mix of dry, sunny weather and manageable crowds.
✅ Best months
April, May, August, September. These months have the lowest rainfall, comfortable temperatures (highs around 22–27°C), and fewer tourists than the peak winter school holidays.
🔥 Peak season
July is the busiest month. It coincides with the Brazilian winter school break, so domestic tourism spikes. Hotel prices can rise 20–30% above average. The city also hosts its biggest cultural event, Expoingá, in early May – that’s a separate mini-peak.
💷 Shoulder (best value)
March and June. March still has some rain but far less than summer; June is dry and mild, with prices dropping after Expoingá. You get good weather without the July crowds.
🌙 Quietest & cheapest
December to February. This is the wettest period – expect heavy, frequent downpours and high humidity. Hotel rates are at their lowest, but many outdoor activities become impractical. The upside: very few tourists.
Maringa season by season

Good for the Expoingá agricultural fair in early May and pleasant evenings.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Weather: 12–24°C, dry, crisp winter mornings
Crowds: high in July
Best for outdoor sightseeing – Cathedral of Maringá and Parque do Ingá are ideal in this cooler, dry weather.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Weather: 15–28°C, rain increases from September
Crowds: low
Warming up again; good for early-spring birdwatching before the rains peak.
