Best Time to Visit Krabi
Krabi has a tropical monsoon climate, so the weather splits into dry and wet halves of the year. The best conditions for beaches and island-hopping run from November to April, when the sea is calm and the skies are mostly blue.

December and January: low rainfall, reliable sunshine, sea calm enough for boat trips. February is similarly good but slightly hotter. Crowds are moderate, not overwhelming.
🔥 Peak season
December–February and the weeks around Songkran (mid-April). Hotel prices can double, especially around Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. Railay Beach and Ao Nang get packed.
💷 Shoulder (best value)
March and November. March is still dry and hot but hotels drop from peak rates. November can have rain but the landscape is lush and uncrowded.
🌙 Quietest & cheapest
June–October. Daily downpours, rough seas, some island trips cancelled. Prices drop 30-50% off high season, but you risk soggy days and closed tours.

September lowest prices. November is the sweet spot for a cheap, decent-weather trip.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Weather: Coolest and driest: 25-32°C, hardly any rain, sunny
Crowds: High (peak season)
Best for island hopping, but book boats and hotels well ahead.

Songkran (Thai New Year, mid-April) – water fights everywhere, but intense heat and hotels full. Loy Krathong (November, date varies) – lanterns and floats on the water, magical on the beaches.
