Best Time to Visit Foca
Foça, on Turkey's Aegean coast, has a classic Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The best time depends on whether you want swimming weather or quiet streets.

May, June and September. May is warm but not scorching, with wildflowers on the hillsides. June and September offer sea temperatures around 22–24°C and far fewer tourists than July–August.
🔥 Peak season
July and August are the busiest months. Turkish holidaymakers fill the town, hotels often charge double the shoulder-season rate, and the beach at Foça Merkez gets packed. No major events drive it – just school holidays and the national exodus to the coast.
💷 Shoulder (best value)
April and October. April can still be cool (16–20°C) but hotel prices drop 30–40% from summer peaks. October is warm enough for swimming early in the month, and you'll find empty tables at the fish restaurants.
🌙 Quietest & cheapest
December to February is the quietest and cheapest. Many beachfront cafes shut, and daytime highs hover around 12–15°C with frequent rain. What's open feels local and unhurried; trade-off is grey weather and closed seaside businesses.

Weather: September: 28–32°C, still hot. October: 22–27°C, sea still warm. November: 16–21°C, rain returns.
Crowds: Moderate in September, low in October–November
September is summer without the crowds; October is ideal for walking the old stone streets.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Weather: December: 12–16°C, rainy. January: 10–14°C, wettest month. February: 11–15°C, still wet.
Crowds: Very low
Good for cheap accommodation and quiet contemplation of the harbour – but many bars and restaurants close.
🎭 Events worth timing a trip around
The Foça Seal Festival (late summer, often September) celebrates the endangered Mediterranean monk seal with boat tours, talks and kids' activities. Also, the Foça Fish Festival in late August features street seafood and live music.
