Best Time to Visit Como
Como sits at the southern tip of its lake, sheltered by the Alps, which gives it a microclimate that’s milder than Milan but still prone to sudden shifts. The best window balances warm, settled weather with crowds that haven’t yet peaked.

July and August. Ferragosto (mid-August) and Italian holidays pack the lakeside promenades. Hotel rates double or triple; many require minimum stays. The summer lake ferries are sardine-tins and midday heat can be oppressive.

April and October. April still sees showers, but hotel prices drop 30–40% compared to summer, and the cherry blossoms are out. October is cooler (12–17°C) and often foggy, but you’ll have the villas almost to yourself and flights are cheap.
