Saint Lucia
Best Time to Visit Castries
Castries is warm year-round, but the best time depends on whether you prioritise sunshine, fewer crowds, or lower prices. The dry season from December to April offers the most reliable weather, while the wet season from June to November brings humidity and higher rainfall.
✦ For the best balance of good weather and value, go in April or May.
✅ Best months
January and February: dry, sunny, and relatively calm after the Christmas rush. April also works well – still dry, but with thinner crowds and slightly lower hotel rates.
🔥 Peak season
December and January are the busiest months due to Christmas, New Year, and the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival. Hotel prices jump 30–50% above shoulder-season rates. Book well in advance.
💷 Shoulder (best value)
May and November: you get decent weather (slightly more rain but still plenty of sun), hotel discounts of 20–30%, and far fewer tourists. The water is warm, and the island is still lush.
🌙 Quietest & cheapest
September and October are cheapest: hotel rates can drop 40–60%. The trade-off is peak hurricane season – expect heavy downpours, possible storms, and some closures. Not ideal for a first-time visit.
