Best Time to Visit Arco
Arco sits at the foot of the Dolomites, sheltered from the worst of the weather by Monte Stivo. Summers are hot and busy; winters are quiet, with snow on the peaks but mild temperatures in town. The best balance comes in late spring and early autumn.
✦ Go in May or September for the best mix of weather, low crowds, and affordable prices.
✅ Best months
May (20–24°C, olive groves in flower, low crowds) and September (25°28°C, lake swimming still good, harvest season). June is also excellent when it's not too hot.
🔥 Peak season
July and August. Arco fills with climbers, cyclists, and families. Hotel prices double or triple. The Arco Rock Master competition (late August) draws big crowds.
💷 Shoulder (best value)
April and October. Temperatures 15–20°C, hotel rates 30–50% lower, and fewer tourists. April can be wet; October is more settled. Good for hiking and climbing without the queues.
🌙 Quietest & cheapest
November to February. Most hotels offer heavy discounts (€50–70/night for 3-star). Days are short, many restaurants close, and the main sights have limited hours. You get the town nearly to yourself but need a car.
