Things to Do in Bandung

A historic street lined with Dutch-colonial shops, cafes and art galleries. Great for a stroll and people-watching without spending anything.

A centre dedicated to Sundanese music and the bamboo angklung instrument. The afternoon show costs around 100,000 IDR (about £5) and includes a workshop where you learn to play the angklung.

A traditional Sundanese village deep in the forest, accessible by public transport for under 50,000 IDR round trip. Entry is free but a voluntary donation is expected.

💡 Go on a Sunday when the village holds its weekly market. Bring cash and simple food as gifts for the elder who might invite you into his house. Stay overnight in a homestay for 50,000 IDR including dinner.

The iconic colonial-era government building with a distinctive Satay-shaped ornament on its roof. You can walk the grounds for free and admire the architecture.

💡 Go on a weekday morning to see locals jogging around the lawn. The small museum inside costs a few thousand rupiah but is worth it for the scale model of Bandung.

A large botanical forest park with walking trails, waterfalls and a guano cave. Entry is cheap (around 5,000-10,000 IDR per person).
