💡 Reach by shared CNG (30 BDT per person, 1 hour) from Bandarban town; combine with a trek to the nearby Keokradong trailhead.

🕐 6:00 am – 6:00 pm
💡 Clouds roll in by midday. Go at sunrise for clear views and fewer people. The road up is rough — hire a jeep, not a car.
A small two-room museum run by the district council, displaying Marma and Bawm tribal artefacts, traditional tools, textiles, and black-and-white photos of the region's history. Entry is 20 BDT.
🕐 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (closed Friday)

A landscaped park on a lake with walking trails, a small zoo, paddle boats, and a butterfly garden. It's more manicured than wild, but a good cheap afternoon out.
🕐 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (closed Fridays)
💡 Skip the zoo — the cages are cramped. Head straight for the lake boat hire. Entry and boat together cost under 100 taka per person.

Getting Around Bandarban
Board before 10 AM to avoid clouds of dust and to guarantee a seat. The last stretch from Chittagong to Bandarban has hairpin bends – sit near the front for less nausea. Local buses stop frequently for chai and bathrooms.
Ask for an air-conditioned Toyota Axio or similar saloon. Settle the fare upfront and check the driver knows the direct route via Chandraghona. The road is winding; carry motion sickness pills.
Fix the fare before getting in; 30 taka is standard if you're alone (50 with luggage). Hotel Plaza is on the main Thana Road – drivers know it. Avoid rush hour (5–7 PM) when the road clogs with trucks.
This bus is bone-shaking but the cheapest way to reach the hills. Sit on the left side for better valley views. Carry water and snacks – no reliable kiosks after Thanchi junction. Pre-book the return via the driver's phone number.
Get a CNG rickshaw from the bus station to Laram. The local buses don't stop directly at the hotel; you'll walk uphill otherwise. 40-50 taka is fair.
Negotiate hard before you get in. A private CNG or microbus from the airport rank costs half the quoted rate if you walk 50 metres outside the terminal.
