🕐 Daily 7:30–16:00
💡 Go early (opens 7:30) to have the pool almost to yourself. The steps back up are brutal, so save energy. Bring a waterproof bag for valuables.

Getting Around Arenal
Taxis in La Fortuna don't have meters – agree the price before you get in. Typical fare from the bus terminal to Hotel La Rana is about 1,500–2,000 colones ($3–$4). Ask for 'Hotel La Rana' and confirm it's near the road to Arenal Volcano.
Shared shuttles are like minibuses – book online with Interbus or Gray Line. They drop you at La Fortuna central, not the hotel. From there, a short taxi (about $3) gets you to Hotel La Rana. Bring small bills for the driver.
Cheapest but slowest. Buses are air-conditioned and reliable. From La Fortuna station, you’ll need a taxi to the hotel (about 10 mins). No direct route to the hotel. Best for budget travellers with flexible schedules.
Pre-book with a reputable company like Desafio or TaxiArenal. The yellow taxis at the airport often quote higher – negotiate only if you're comfortable. The trip takes around 2.5 hours, but factor in an extra 30 minutes for La Fortuna's one-way system.
