Things to Do in Aegina

17th-century Venetian tower in the centre of Aegina Town, with shaded courtyard and occasional art exhibitions.

💡 Walk around the back to see the old olive press. The tower is usually free, but check if an event is on.

Large active monastery dedicated to the island's patron saint, with a grand domed church and peaceful gardens.

💡 Men need to wear long trousers; cover your shoulders. The monastery sells small bottles of holy oil for €1. Open daily, but skip Sunday morning when pilgrims crowd it.

Single remaining column of a 6th-century BC Apollo temple, with layered ruins from Mycenaean, Roman and Byzantine periods.

💡 The ticket also gets you into the museum across the street. Go late afternoon when the light hits the column.
