A fortified granite cathedral built in the 15th century on a site dating back to 580 AD. Unfinished twin spires and a magnificent heraldic ceiling. Peaceful and rarely crowded.

Big Victorian park along the River Dee. The Winter Gardens glasshouse complex is free and packed with tropical plants, cacti, and a koi pond. Good playgrounds and wide paths for running.
